- arguably the best doctor in the federation, beverly takes care of business with good humor as well as sincerity. after the death of her husband, she raised their son by herself while still elevating all the way to the rank of head of starfleet medical on earth. she left that post, though, for the more exciting and adventurous position as chief medical officer on the enterprise-d. above all else, beverly cares for people, and she always does what she thinks is best for her patients, even if it’s in violation of the prime directive. in addition to being a doctor, beverly is a commanding officer and often takes over the night shift on the enterprise-d to keep herself on the up-and-up. beverly never loses her cool, even in the face of a borg invasion, and she’s invented more cures for bizarre new diseases than could possibly be listed. aside from her duties, she writes and directs theatrical plays in her spare time and is an accomplished tap dancer. beverly is sarcastic, funny, brilliant, compassionate, and dedicated: frankly, everything you could hope for in a ship’s doctor and a friend.
